Maria Pompea has been involved in dance ministry for over 30 years and has danced extensively, receiving her early technical training through the Colorado College dance program in Colorado Springs and later at the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado (completing a Bachelor of Arts degree with an MA in progress), as well as at various studios throughout Colorado.

Also a fine artist (watercolor), she is the director of the New Life Visual Arts Ministry, encompassing both dance and fine art, and has danced professionally along with teaching ballet, jazz, modern, lyrical and worship dance for many years. In addition, Maria has choroegraphed/directed in NL's seasonal productions (The Thorn, Wonderland), conferences, art events and other dance venues for over 12 years.
